Lou Ringler believed in the power of quality education and its practical application to achieve a high level of clinical proficiency. He believed that anything is possible, given the motivation and resources to make it so. He believed that everyone could win when given an equal opportunity to learn and grow. It was in that spirit that Innercalm Associates was founded.

Some of the respected instructors who contribute to Innercalm's highly effective teaching program and course development.

Lou Ringler, PhD.

Founder

Mr. Ringler had an extensive and innovative management background in the field of educational sales, serving as a National Vice President for over 30 years. He transitioned his expertise to the health care industry and its corporate structure by forming Innercalm Associates, and was approved by the BCE in 1992. In 1995, he established the California Academy for MUA, as a division of Innercalm Associates. In the last 25 years of his career, Mr. Ringler had the privilege of serving as a member of ad hoc BCE committees as well as the DWC. He was a great influence and inspiration to thousands of healthcare practitioners throughout his career, and to all who knew him.

Dr. Shirley Elzinga, D.C.

Instructor

In addition to being a licensed chiropractor, Dr. Elzinga is also a registered Nurse Anesthetist and a licensed Acupuncturist. She is also a noted lecturer in the field of Hormone Replacement Therapy, (HRT), natural wellness, and the field of compounding pharmacy. Dr. Elzinga regularly lectures throughout the U.S. and abroad. She has served on numerous professional boards and has won many awards for her hard work and dedication, including The Botterman Award, New Doctor of the Year, Outstanding Doctor of the Year Award, and the Medical Practitioner for the Southern California Association of the Athletic Congress. 

Dr. Elzinga practices in Beverly Hills and focuses on the "quality of life" for her patients by incorporating Chiropractic, Acupuncture, Exercise Programs, Physical Therapy, Nutrition, Aslan's Therapies (PC3) and Bio-Identical Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). She lectures frequently to doctors on HRT.

Dr. Donald Richardson, D.C., DACBSP, CSCS

Instructor

Dr. Richardson is a chiropractor, Sports Medicine Diplomat, Strength and Conditioning Specialist, published author, and a US Olympic (NGB) Team Doctor. Dr. Richardson has worked with the national governing bodies of several sports since 2008. During this time he served as both a team doctor and sports performance coach, traveling nationally and internationally with athletes. Dr. Richardson's unique experience and success in conditioning has allowed him to develop the most complete and effective, rehabilitative, functional, performance-training programs available today. Dr. Richardson has served as an associate professor at Southern California University, where he has taught biomechanics, rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning at the graduate level. Dr. Richardson is the author of the book, “The Premier Body Method; The Sport of Life,” which discusses the topics of human movement education and biomechanics in relation to musculoskeletal pathology, health and fitness, and sports performance.

Dr Cathy Hunter DC has been practicing chiropractic for 25 years. A Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, graduate, she has spent her entire career helping patients on a healthier and more natural life. Dr Hunter is an author, speaker and host of her podcast, Five Degrees To Your Future.

Dr. Ernie Caldwell, D.C. has 34 years experience as a Chiropractor, and is a Certified Clinical Nutritionist with 12 years experience in the field of nutrition. He also has 14 years of teaching at the post graduate level for colleges on both the East and West coasts.

Dr James Alvis, D.C. graduated from Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, after a four year enlistment in the Air Force. Dr. Alvis is a Certified Medical Examiner with the Department of Transportation, and has helped many Chiropractors become board certified medical examiners as an instructor for Innercalm Associates Department of Transportation certification training courses. Dr. Alvis specializes in helping truck drivers, by conducting physicals for the Department of Transportation, ensuring the health and safety of his patients and truckers throughout the country. Through his expert instruction at the D.O.T. training courses over the years, Dr. Alvis has given countless Chiropractors, Nurses, and Medical Doctors the ability and opportunity to become Certified Medical Examiners
and enhance their practices.

Dr. Jeff Blanchard, D.C.

Instructor

A former Commissioner of the California State Board of Chiropractic Examiners, Dr. Blanchard has been in private practice in California since 1980. He is the founder and Director of the Orange County Golf Center for Manipulation Under Anesthesia (MUA) and Pain Management at the Anaheim-West Outpatient Surgical Center. He is the “doctor who teaches doctors” how to diagnose and treat golf related injuries. Hundreds of physicians each year study with Dr. Blanchard. Dr. Blanchard became a golf professional in 1998. He is also a design consultant for the Titleist Training Center, Taylor Made Golf and Ceramix Golf. In association with Innercalm Associates, Dr. Blanchard leads a seminar that focuses on teaching health care professionals how to assess and treat golf specific injuries.

Dr. Edward Cremata, D.C., FNP-C

Instructor

Dr. Edward Cremata, D.C., FNP-C, a longtime instructor with Innercalm Associates, has a broad background of education and experience. He has practiced chiropractic in Fremont, CA for 38 years, taught as a professor for Palmer-West Chiropractic college, and has worked in a multidisciplinary environment providing chiropractic and nursing services. One of his hobbies is research, publishing more than a dozen papers in the peer-reviewed literature. Dr. Cremata has been a QME since 1996 and has taught DWC-approved QME seminars for many years. With a diverse practice, he states that his main passion is still seeing patients. Dr. Cremata became a registered nurse in 2015 and subsequently earned his nurse practitioner degree. Dr. Cremata is the current instructor for Innercalm Associates Ethics and the Law Course.
